Within the Void, the Tenebris Motive resides, it is rumored not even the Stygian Numenity ventures here unless explicitly summoned by their benefactor. What is known, over the ages of the existence of the Idea and the Icon, they have twisted and corrupted the Motive and compelled it to join them in a trifecta of darkness, this reunified aegis of power, when not separated and plotting against one another is called the Tenebris Motive, where all three are referred to as a single entity, this Tenebris Motive is the One True Deity of this universe, as it can create and destroy at will.
The Tenebris Motive is also subject to worship not only by cultists but by the Religiously fanatic as well, it is rumored within the deepest, darkest cells of Ceqellian lineage within the Church that the God they worship and the God that the Stygian Cult worships are one in the same, their views however limited to specific aspects of their God.
Within the Stygian Realm, also known as the Causal Plane, it is divided into four different planes, with Void being the deepest and darkest. Just above the Void we have the Abyss, where the Numenity resides. Above the Abyss one will find the Mar, which is an outer plane where Deacons may be specially summoned by the Numenity. Above the Mar, one can find the Rift, the highest plane that is known to have been traversed by the Numenity and the Tenebris Motive.
To be able to further explore this vast realm of grim unreality, one must know the cursed names that command their demonic cohorts, these individuals, while their age isn’t exactly known, their seniority and their names are. To recite the name of one of these is to be considered a great sin by the common peasant, and traitorous if mentioned to an Inquisitor.
From ancient records and ongoing occult investigations, it is known that there are currently six known members of the Numenity, and it is theorized that it is locked at this number, but occasionally, a Seventh one has been brought up in record and by seers. If correct, it would be a herald of the end times as would be in accordance with numerous religious prophecies.
Vogt would be known to be the eldest one of the six, often referred to as the Origin for unknown reasons, it seems that it would be held at a standard above the other members of the Numenity. It is also likely that Vogt is the only one that can consecrate a new member of the Numenity through the usage of a Sanguine Mantle.
Vexacion comes as second in the collection of the Numenity, nothing is known about this individual expect that they are known as the Regent, it is theorized that Vexacion is responsible for the consecration of Deacons through the usage of Black Mantle, but this is unconfirmed and only speculation.
Linn is one of the only highly documented members of the Numenity due to the influential events that had unfolded concerning his ascension, where in, the entire kingdom of Ausena, the precursor to Aursia and the distant ancestor to Ausiel, was sacrificed in a grand display of gore and violence on a national scale. Considering the unknown amount of time that has passed since, little know of this incident except for the most rural of villagers that had survived this time of blood.
Linn was known as the Lord of Northern Descent, one of the King’s most influential General’s that vived for god hood and power, but unfortunately found his career’s end at the bed chambers of the Queen, who he had defiled as the King raged war, resulting in his expulsion from the Kingdom and lengthy torture, in this, it was known that Linn, who’s real name is Feodor, was able to activate his occult artefact and ascend to god hood. It is because of Linn that the Inquisition knows so much about the Numenity, and is most likely why it has fallen out of favor within recent times as it can be seen as a liability. It is because of this, it is known that Linn also goes by the alias of the Trigon.
Disch, similar to Linn where it was heavily studied due to the nature of it’s upbringing, however, all memory and record concerning Disch has somehow been lost to the tangible fabric of time, the only records left within the deepest crypts of the Inquisition denote it as the Keeper, most likely it is theorized that Disch is the one that is the Keeper of the Heart of the Abyss, a highly sought after occult artefact that would allow entry past the Abyss.
Isher is supposedly the most favored of the Numenity towards the Origin, the Regent and even the Tenebris Motive itself, it is because of this that they have been titled the Heir, Isher also sees popularity among the Cults of mankind for Isher is seen as a benevolent deity that wishes the best for mankind. Which is simply false, as Isher uses its charismatic nature to steer the flow of destiny.
Peta known as the Acolyte or the Novice is the most recent addition to the Numenity however it is unknown where, what and when the Sanguination of Peta had occurred, most likely in a distant far off land that has yet to make contact with mainland civilization. Nothing is known about this one.
Elyon is supposedly the seventh member of the Numenity and would stand to serve as one of the most powerful, alongside the Keeper or even the Origin, it is not known the date of this hellfire apocalypse that awaits us all, but, prophecy shall fore tell a great Sanguination that shall bleed the land dry and swell the air with the dust of trampled bone, it is currently the Inquisition’s number one priority to somehow delay the inevitable or to seize and prevent the Sanguination event.
Now that the members of the Numenity have been explained, it is informative to include their abysmal fetishes that allow them to transmutate themselves and others into creatures apart of the Stygian Numenity.
The Sanguine Mantle’s exact appearance is not known but it is known that it can appear as a beautiful jewel of all encompassing beauty, encaged within the most finest of metals and would radiate perfection to the individual meant to perceive it. It is theorized that individuals not meant to be in possession of it would see the Mantle as a different object, a simple colorful rock encased within rusted iron that would be uncomfortable to wear and too heavy to carry regularly, usually this is how the Mantle ends up in the hands of those destined to obtain it; by being handed it through bargain or trade.
The Black Mantle’s properties are similar to the Sanguine Mantle’s except that the jewel is pitch black and not scarlet red. It is known that this is the device that creates Deacons.
The Heart of the Abyss is a strange trinket, supposedly the beating heart of one of Void’s physical appearances, it is the only object that allows transcendence into the realm of the Abyss and beyond.
The Tenebric Mark is a simple stone that empowers an individual and can create an almost pseudo-deacon, it is common belief that Deacons can requisition these from the Numenity in order to create creatures that can assist it in their practices. Tenebric Marks can simply empower an individual's physical attributes or it can modify their appearance, or ensure loyalty. Some Decanters are usually in possession of these.
Of which, Decanters are human cultists that work for Deacons and know their purpose and their intents, they are usually the most loyal and most trusted of a cultist cell, with the lower ranks not knowing their purpose or even the Deacon they are lead by.
